When I pick up a piece of a log I usually have an idea of a finished shape in mind.  Often the wood speaks for itself and the turning adjusts as if the wood has a mind of its own.  Most of my wood is found wood from tree trimmers.  In 2006 I started woodturning using a lathe I built myself.  My son had been turning on a lathe my father built and I caught the bug.  Since then, I have upgraded to my third lathe, following my passion of exploring new designs in wood as well as making many of my own tools
