Ceramics are safe to put outside, they do need to be brought in over the winter.  Also please let me know if you're planning on putting anything outside so I'm sure to completely glaze it inside and out, specifically figurines, etc. 

PS.  I can drill a hole in most bowls too so don't stop looking for the perfect planter here.
